capiton supports growth strategy as new majority shareholder

Twinsburg, OH

The Stürtz Group, headquartered in Neustadt (Wied), Germany, a leading supplier of plants and automation solutions for the PVC window manufacturing industry, wins capiton as a partner with experience in mid-sized companies to continue Stürtz’s expansion nationally and internationally.

The independent, owner-managed private equity company capiton AG, based in Berlin, Germany, acquires Stürtz from an investment fund managed by CGS Management AG. Together with CGS, the Stürtz team has been successfully pursuing a comprehensive internationalization strategy for the Stürtz Group since 2017, consistently focusing on new, innovative products. With the expansion of in-house sales in Europe and the establishment of new subsidiaries in Poland, Romania and China, customers in the most important markets now benefit directly on site from extensive Stürtz sales and services. In addition the US market share increased significantly and Stürtz’ position as innovation leader strengthened. As a result, substantial growth was achieved.

“The development of the last few years has been very dynamic. Thanks to the trusting cooperation with CGS, we have achieved a great deal,” note Jörg Breuer and Christoph Fries, Managing Directors at Stürtz. “Now we are looking forward to working with capiton AG to make our brand even more globally known and to continue the growth course we have set out on.”
Christoph Karbenk, partner at capiton, equally anticipates the addition of Stürtz to the capiton portfolio: “We are very much looking forward to working with the entire Stürtz team to strengthen the company’s technological capabilities, further accelerate its international expansion and help shape the next chapter in the Stürtz Group’s success story.”

The Stürtz Group is well positioned to further benefit from strong industry trends such as increasing demand for automated solutions, energy efficiency and predictive maintenance.
