At Stürtz Machinery we design and build world-class automated machinery for the vinyl window manufacturing industry. We are looking for experienced machine builders to assemble, wire, test, and qualify our machines. The position requires both mechanical and electrical machine building capabilities. Please note that this is not assembly line or benchtop style work, but assembling several different styles of large, custom machines. If you enjoy the challenge and satisfaction of creating a complex, automated machines this may be the position for you.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble, align, test and qualify automated production equipment in our facility for Customer run-off and acceptance.
• Troubleshoot and solve issues to achieve customer requirements on dimensional performance, cycle time, safety and others.
• Provide start up assistance in new machinery installations at customer factory locations including uncrating, alignment, and assembly.
• Meet committed timing for machine completion
• Make recommendations for design improvements with Stürtz engineering.

Qualifications:

• Experience building industrial machinery, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with PLC’s, electronics and wiring schematics and basic computer skills.

• Ability to travel to customer sites within North America as required.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently.

At Stürtz Machinery we design and build world-class automated machinery for the vinyl window manufacturing industry. We are looking for experienced Field Service Technicians to perform the site assembly and commissioning of new machine installations, and field troubleshooting and repair of existing equipment. If you enjoy the challenge and satisfaction of working with automated manufacturing equipment, this is the position for you. The position requires 50-75% travel, a strong customer focus, can-do attitude, and both mechanical and electrical machine experience.

Responsibilities:

• On-site installation and commissioning of new machines
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair existing machinery at customer location.
• Provide start up assistance in new machinery installations at customer factory locations including uncrating, alignment, and assembly.
• Provide operator and maintenance personnel training at customer locations.
• Provide direction for spare parts recommendations with customers.
• Make recommendations for design improvements with Stürtz engineering.
• Accurately complete Service Reports summarizing field work
• Provide customer support via phone and PC remote diagnostics

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years’ experience building, installing and repairing industrial machinery.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
• Knowledge of PLC’s, electronics and wiring schematics, basic computer skills.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written. Positive attitude. Detail oriented. Driven to succeed. Dependable and reliable
• Ability to travel 50—75% to customer sites within North America.

• Identify and release component orders to meet project timing

Qualifications:

• B.S. Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years’ experience in machine design or equivalent
• Motion control, clamping, machining and other automation experience
• Capable with SolidWorks

Qualified individuals are responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control, and safety measures. Individual will enhance the operational procedure, systems, and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, and look for opportunities to expand capacity.

Responsibilities:

• Set priorities to achieve company goals and consistently communicate with all departments.
• Assure customer projects are delivered on time and to specification, coordinating with sales.
• Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline employees.
• Develop and execute make or buy strategies across all aspects of operational responsibility
• Contribute and develop operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits.
• Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum BA Degree in engineering/production related fields preferably in mechanical/electrical disciplines.
